My photography journey started with a little point and shoot that I carried everywhere with me as a child, mostly using it to take photos of my dogs and tiny little frogs I found on walks. The fever really took hold when I decided to take photography as a GCSE at school and finally bought my first DSLR. My camera became an extension of my arm and I was known by everyone as the photo girl. I had the whole year posing for portraits even before they asked me to shoot for the yearbook.
My love for photography has endured and grown with me. Looking for my shot helps me to find the beauty in everyday moments when the world seems dark, and allows me to highlight the exceptional in those I love. Most often, my photography focuses on animals and the natural world. Studying Marine Biology at University gave me the opportunity to travel and point my camera at wildlife across the world, as well as shaping my understanding in a way that brought a new voice for conservation and documentation to my photography.
